Quiz night

Our annual quiz night was a roaring success! It took place at Sele Farm Community Centre on Friday 12 May, and saw a sell out crowd of 90 people turning up for questions, pizza, ice cream and a raffle.

Team 9 - made up of various hardworking councillors like Jane Sartin, Bob Deering, Linda Radford (then the Mayor) - won, and received bottles of wine and 'lots of happiness'!

David Pearce (former Rotary chairman and carnival organiser) performed as quizmaster, and local businesses donated prizes for the raffle (see here).

After costs, all proceeds go towards staging the Carnival.

The archived poster is here.

Princess for a day

Previously, the annual competition run by the Hertfordshire Mercury to find the Hertford Carnival princess and attendants has been very popular with children and well-supported by businesses; see our Archive footage.

Unfortunately the Mercury is again not running the competition this year.

Instead, we had a fancy dress competition for boys and girls on Carnival day; see above.
